The 12 Days of Wegmans Prize Rides event kicks off at 12pm on Friday, December 1, 2023. For one hour each day until December 14 River Valley Transit bus riders aboard the selected “route of the day” will be given a chance to win a $25 Wegmans gift card and other prizes. The first route is the Lock Haven Link.

River Valley Transit is the local Public Transportation system in the Williamsport and surrounding area and has teamed with Wegmans grocery store as the primary sponsor to offer something new this holiday season. “We have a long-time relationship with Wegmans and our Downtown Connector bus stops at the grocery store more than a dozen times each week day. We are proud to give something back to our community with their contribution,” said transit Executive Director Todd Wright. “The goal is to get more people to try transit and also reward those that regularly ride the bus. We could not make this kind of event happen without Wegmans.”

Each day until December 14, excluding Sundays, find the Prize Ride route of the day on River Valley Transit’s social media outlets or contact the transit office to get the selected route. Upon boarding the chosen route, riders will be greeted by an RVT employee and given a holiday trading pin plus a chance to pull a random prize from the gift bag. Each day a quantity of 4 $25 Wegmans gift cards will be in the prize bag and unclaimed prizes will be added to the following day of Prize Rides. There will be a variety of other prizes in the gift bag while supplies last.

The “Quick Trip Planner” on River Valley Transit’s website offers real time bus schedules and may help people locate the route of the day. In addition, the smart phone application “MyRide” also offers bus locations and stops along all the routes in the service area.

The other River Valley Transit end of year annual campaign is “Bus Pass It Forward.” During December the regularly priced 31 Day EZ Fare pass is slashed 50%. The pass is $20 until December 30, 2023. The discount has helped the community for over 3 years and is available only to individuals.
