Upcoming Bus Stop Changes

After reviewing ridership data and stop usage, several stops with very low activity (few boardings and drop-offs) have been identified for removal. In some cases, stops will also be relocated to safer, more accessible locations for riders.

Additionally, a few stops will be moved to locations before traffic lights. This change will help reduce frequent stopping and improve overall traffic flow.

Why these changes are being made:

  • Improve safety and accessibility for riders
  • Keep buses running on schedule
  • Reduce delays caused by frequent stops
  • Provide operators with better recovery (layover) time when needed
  • Reduce wear and tear on buses

These updates are designed to create a safer, more reliable, and more efficient transit system for everyone. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this adjustment.

Stops on the following routes will be eliminated and riders should proceed to a nearby stop on the routes.

Beginning Friday, May 1, 2026  River Valley Transit will eliminate the following stops on the Montoursville and Newberry routes. Plan ahead now and locate the stop nearest to the ones that are being removed. This page will be updated regularly with deleted stops.
