Our series of theme wrapped buses continues.
We are honoring all those that are seen as heroes, specifically veterans and those related to the event on 911. You can see the new bus in our formal unveiling event on Transit Drive as we introduce the artwork during Williamsport Welcomes the World on Friday, August 26th, 2022.
In addition we will be showcasing our new RVTA trading pin at the unveiling between 5pm and 7pm. Share RVTA on social media for a free pin. Additional pins can be purchased when you donate $3.
In partnership with the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, our goal is to raise money to donate to the MilitaryShare program. Did you know we have 2 local sites right here in Lycoming County that benefit from the program? Regarding the artwork on the side and back of the bus; “Those individuals that were changed forever should be remembered. Those that dedicated their lives to others, such as Father Manno, a local pillar of our community, should also be recognized and never forgotten,” said Adam Winder, Executive Director of River Valley Transit Authority.
Father Manno can be seen on the bus with “Fred”, his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He loved to honor veterans and service members. He was on hand in the aftermath of 911 in New York City serving as a chaplain to their community. He lived in Lycoming County and was an original organizer of the local “9/11 Memorial Coalition Ride” that tours our area every September.
