Transfers Are ONLY for One-Way Trips

Transfers are available only when you are changing buses to complete a one-way trip to your destination. They are not intended for return trips or for riding back in the direction you came from.

Transfers are free.

How to Use a Transfer

  • Deposit the exact fare when paying with cash.
  • Ask the bus operator for a transfer immediately when you board.
  • Transfers are for use only in a continuous direction — from your point of origin to your destination.
  • A transfer is not valid for a return trip on the same route.
  • Transfers are valid only for the next available bus and must be used within 30 minutes.

Remember: A Transfer Is Not a Round-Trip Pass

For example, if you travel from Newberry → Transit Center → Loyalsock Plaza, you may use a transfer to change buses at the Transit Center and continue to Loyalsock Plaza.

However, you cannot use that transfer to travel back from Loyalsock Plaza to the Transit Center or Newberry.

Transfers are designed to help you complete your one-way trip — not to make a return trip.

Important

If you are paying with cash, ask the operator for your transfer when you board the first bus. Your transfer is good for the next available bus, in the same continuous direction, and for no more than 30 minutes.

ALL Token Transit App users, Token Transit Smart Card users and “Tap to Pay” users have a built in transfer and will never be issued or given a yellow Paper Transfer card.

Plan your trip. Ride right. Get where you’re going.
